![]() Also amazing success with last-minute restaurant reservations. ![]() ![]() It's just little stuff like that on top of the tremendous amount of detail items like transfers and arranging all the required Covid tests along the way she's handled for me as well. One example, I recently booked a couple FHR listed hotels in Europe direct with the hotels (not through Amex) and she reached out to all of them and made sure they added FHR benefits anyway. I've been with Centurion for about 2 months now and it's been a great experience thus far. Bottom Line: The Centurion Card is invite-only and costs 5,000 per year with a 10,000 initiation fee. Having that experience, I've been leaning on Cent quite a bit lately to help me with a bunch things to see just how well the fee meets the storied service. The Amex Black Card is officially called the Centurion Card from. Amex customers can request an invitation for the Black Card online, though there is no guarantee of actually receiving an invite. Travel booking and anything on opentable is unfortunately about the bandwidth limit with them 9/10 times. To get a Black Card from American Express, you must receive an invitation to apply, have Excellent credit, and pay the 10,000 initiation fee. I only have tried to interact with plat concierge a handful of times in a decade and was never impressed. Tracking 4-5 gold cards would be too much work. Even in Asia 250k-300k is the bare minimum right now along with the right spend. I don't know anyone in recent years who has received an invite with less than 250k on a personal card except maybe some Scandinavian countries where Amex is not popular at all. I won't get multiple gold cards for the reason you mentioned, but will max out the 1M bonus points on the Plat and then move over to the Centurion during the calendar year. Curious as to others' thoughts, especially those with any experience with the cards. Probably the wrong sub for talking points strategy but the idea that people with millions of spend and points and don't care about points is not really true from what I have seen first hand ) (I still don't do this seems a bit overkill and requires tracking each card's spend and repeating each year). If you do 4 gold cards you can rack up 1.2M points on not much spend, which is a great deal. Combine those 4x points with the 50% discount on air travel, or moving them to Schwab and its a pretty awesome deal. I personally do not chase gold cards, but I know a few people, who despite having millions of points, still do it. I agree with what you are saying, only applies to 100k in select categories but its 300k bonus points and 4x points is hard to beat.
